Only 12 years after Vicente Fox was elected president and Mexico underwent a democratic transition, the former ruling party, the PRI, is back in power. Denise Dresser will assess Enrique Peña Nieto´s presidency and his proposed reforms in the context of Mexico’s long journey toward economic modernization and democratic consolidation.

Denise Dresser is a professor of political science at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) and a columnist for the newspaper Reforma and the news weekly Proceso.
