“Tejid@s Junt@s” is a short film about the development of a strong and independent union in the Alta Gracia apparel factory in the Dominican Republic. The film tells the story of workers, conscientious investors, and student activists who participated in making Alta Gracia a fair alternative to unsafe working conditions, low wages, and repressive work environments. The film examines the myriad ways that communities in the United States are interwoven with communities abroad and shows how finding and strengthening those connections can bring about positive change. 25 minutes.
