The film will be followed by a panel discussion with David Lebrun, the film’s director; Matthew Robb, curator of the Arts of the Americas at the DeYoung Museum; and Carla Shapreau, lecturer at the UC Berkeley School of Law.

Synopsis

“Dance of the Maize God” enters the world of exquisitely painted Maya vases to explore the royal life and rich mythology of the ancient Maya, as well as the tangled issues involved in the collection and study of looted art. 96 minutes. Spanish and English with English subtitles.
