During the Felipe Calderón administration, Mexico launched an aggressive campaign to weaken drug trafficking organizations, and violence increased significantly, producing more than 55,000 deaths in six years. Prof. Magaloni presented her findings on the impacts of this campaign on the escalation and geographic dispersion of violence.
