The Alternative Model: Challenging Chile's Neoconservative Experiment

Event Description

One of the most enduring legacies of Chile’s military regime (1973-90) is an economic and political model that ranks among the most radical neoconservative experiments in the world. In the Chilean bestseller El otro modelo, Couso, Larraín, and their co-authors lay out a blueprint for an alternative economic model.

Javier Couso is a professor of Public Law and the director of the Constitutional Law Program at the Universidad Diego Portales.

Guillermo Larraín is a professor of Economics at the Universidad de Chile.
