Héctor Timerman is the Consul General of Argentina in New York. Ambassador Timerman was cofounder and board member of Human Rights Watch, and the son of Jacobo Timerman, an outspoken journalist, who was imprisoned, tortured and held under house arrest in Argentina for 30 months in the 1970s, an experience detailed in the 1981 book, Prisoner Without a Name, Cell Without a Number.
