Clare Ibarra is a PhD Candidate in History at UC Berkeley. Her dissertation research examines scientific exchange between Cuba and the Soviet Union during the Cold War, in order to understand how socialism as a political ideology affected each country’s approach to development, resource extraction, and decolonization. Research interests include: revolutions, gender, transfer of knowledge, science as a social practice, decolonization, environmentalism, and science in the Global South.
