Abstract:
Researchers from UC Berkeley and partner institutions examine the worrying trend of prolonged hot droughts in the Amazon rainforest. Focusing on the impact on trees in those biomes, they look at arboreal systems of water management, especially in the crowns of the forest canopy, as trees compete for sunlight and energy to power their search for hydration.
