Abstract:
Everardo Reyes' grandfather spoke Rarámuri, an Indigenous language spoken in Chihuahua, Mexico. When UC Berkeley and CLAS offered a chance to study Nahuatl, Everardo found both connection with his family and its heritage, as well as the joy of sharing that connection with his son, through learning a language that will also give him a tool he needs to continue his research.
