Amazon Forest Interactions with Earth's Climate System

Abstract:

Recorded October 6, 2014

Below is the original description of the event.

Tropical forests are being affected by global changes, particularly the rising concentration of atmospheric CO2, elevated temperatures, and changing precipitation patterns. This talk will examine the impact of these changes and how complex human landscapes interact with Earth’s climate system.

Jeffrey Q. Chambers is a faculty scientist in the Climate Sciences Department at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab and an associate professor of Geography at UC Berkeley.
